Baglioni Resort Sardinia represents the latest chapter in the long-standing collaboration between the architecture and interior design firm Spagnulo & Partners and Baglioni Hotels & Resorts, a partnership spanning more than fifteen years that has helped shape some of the group’s most iconic properties. Nestled within the unspoiled setting of the Tavolara Marine Protected Area, the resort interprets contemporary luxury as an authentic and immersive experience, in constant dialogue with the nature, culture, and traditions of Sardinia.
The interior design project stems from the exploration of two fundamental themes: the relationship between humanity and nature, expressed through light, colours, materials, and sensory perceptions; and the heritage of local material cultures, reinterpreted through a contemporary lens. From this vision emerges an elegant and distinctive design language that extends throughout the guestrooms, suites, public areas, and outdoor spaces, celebrating materials such as granite, Orosei stone, raw lime plaster, artisanal textiles, handcrafted ceramics, and glazed terracotta. A refined balance between tradition and innovation defines the unique character of the entire resort.

Within this context, the collaboration with Vistosi finds its place, further strengthening a partnership that has already brought the company and the design studio together on several projects. It is a testament to a well-established design dialogue and a shared vision of quality, craftsmanship, and aesthetic research. For the resort’s suites, the choice fell on Damasco, one of Vistosi’s most iconic collections, capable of expressing through glass the full richness of Murano’s manufacturing tradition.
Designed by Paolo Crepax, Damasco is distinguished by its unique bozzolo technique, a process in which strands of molten glass are layered around the light source, creating a three-dimensional texture rich in depth and nuance. Light filters through this intricate material weave, enhancing its details and generating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that perfectly complements the resort’s design language.
The presence of the Damasco pendants helps define the interiors with discretion and elegance, introducing a decorative element that harmoniously interacts with the natural materials and the colour palette inspired by the Mediterranean landscape. It is a choice that perfectly embodies the spirit of the project, where advanced craftsmanship, material research, and timeless quality merge into a single aesthetic experience.
Completed in 2021, Baglioni Resort Sardinia stands as a place where architecture, interior design, and light come together to create a complete sensory experience, expressing a shared design vision and collaborations capable of evolving and renewing themselves over time.
